How I provide outstanding Latin learning support

To maintain the highest educational standards, I continually refine my teaching through professional development and collaboration with leading classicists and institutions, including providing CPD for teachers. You can read more about my background in the about me section.
Pricing and programmes
Prices start at £100 per week for ongoing tuition and include a 60-minute private session, ongoing personalised planning and individual exam preparation support, plus regular feedback and parental meetings to ensure success.
Please note that I currently have very limited availability; I recommend getting in touch early to ensure we can plan your tuition journey. If your child is preparing for GCSE in 2026, you may want to consider joining my Latin GCSE Revision Course, a structured self-paced course to help your child use their time efficiently and get the best possible grade.
"The anxiety that is usually associated with learning a new language was radically, if not completely, reduced.
My son described Ana as focused, prepared, and delightful. We are loving Latin lessons with Ana!"

Frequently Asked Questions
How does Latin tutoring online work?

After our initial meeting and assessment, I create an individual Latin language and exam preparation learning plan. If your child will benefit from small tutorial work (three students maximum), they may be invited to join an Oxbridge style tutorial group. Lessons take place weekly during term-time, and ad hoc holiday or additional sessions can also be booked.

What are the benefits of tutorial-style sessions for Latin language learning?

I run highly interactive one-to-one sessions and small-group tutorials (also called supervisions), which foster full participation and engagement. There are many benefits to learning in a small group: students learn to negotiate meaning and build on their peers' ideas, and they are challenged to elaborate on their views in a friendly environment. This prepares them for future academic success, from Oxbridge interviews to later university life.

What schools do your Latin students attend?
I support students across a range of UK, US and international schools, both in the private and state sectors.
Here are examples of schools my students have attended in the last couple of years:

Westminster Cathedral Choir School, Holland Park, Saint Paul's School (US), Saint Paul's (boys and girls, UK), Eton College, The Judd, Reed's School, Sevenoaks, Sussex House School, Lambrook School, The King's School Canterbury, West London Free School, Mossbourne Community Academy, Queen Elizabeth's School, King Edward VI SChool, Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School, St James Schools, Brisbane Girls Grammar School, Ibstock Place School, Hills Road Sixth Form College, SPCCPS, St Mary's Calne, Durston House, Beaconsfield High School for Girls, Woldingham School, Badminton School, Presbyterian Ladies College, The Lawrenceville School, Wycombe Abbey, Tokyo International School.

What Latin learning resources do you use?

I am familiar with all commonly used textbooks and also create my own resources to suit individual students' needs.

Textbooks: Suburani, CLC, De Romanis, LLPSI, Wheelock, Taylor, Oulton, Owen's Ovid and Prose, Leigh's Prose composition
Additional resources: novellae, Latin Via Ovid, Via Latina, Omnibus magazines, past papers and unique mock papers created by me.
Online tools: access to Suburani online, Legentibus and my self-paced courses are part of the package I offer to ongoing tuttees.
Self-paced courses: students who would benefit from joining them will receive guided access.

I am not sure about online learning for Latin. How is it better than face-to-face?

I have taught hundreds of students and teachers online, and I use state-of-the-art technology to ensure meetings are safe, comfortable and interactive.
Meeting from the comfort of their own space, students experience lower levels of anxiety, which is conducive to a deeper learning experience as well as being ideal for communicative approaches.
For more information on the tools I use for teaching online, you can read my blog post on online learning.

Can you help with specific Latin language and literature exams?

I teach the full Latin range, from 13+ to university entrance. This includes the following: Common Entrance Level 1, 2, 3 and scholarship, GCSE (OCR and EDUQAS), A Level, CLAT and Oxbridge application preparation. For students preparing for the MLAT and CAT, I also offer a support package.
